Sri Krishna purusottama das: HH Bhakti Raghava Maharaja graced Silicon Valley with his presence here in the second week of December as part of North America tour in the west coast. Returning from HH\u2019s lecturing tour on Varnashrama in Seattle earlier this month, he visited ISV for name giving ceremony for our cow – \u201cSurabhi\u201d. HG Hariguru Prabhu and HG Yamuna Mataji as part of ISV Cow Protection Project has established relations with Tom (a local farmer). We have given a cow to be raised in Tom\u2019s farm at Watsonville, California.<\/p>\n
Maharaj has visited this farm to officiate the name giving ceremony to our cow by traditionally reciting the name of cow in her ear (Surabhi) and writing it on the ground with rice flour. Around 120 devotees including kids participated in this ceremonious event at the farm and offered Go-Puja. Maharaj while giving lecture said \u201cWith the presence of one cow, any place would become fit to be a place of pilgrimage\u201d. Our farmer Tom also confirmed this by sharing his realization that the presence of Surabhi has brought a great change in the ambience and that he is inspired to see the Go-Puja. Maharaj also spoke about the importance of Ghee in one\u2019s life. Shortly after the wonderful farm visit, we returned to ISV temple for the Sunday feast program where Maharaj spoke on \u201cLand, Cows and Krishna\u201d. He also unveiled the \u201cOm Sri Surabhi Campaign\u201d logo to invoke global auspiciousness centering around the Surabhi Cow, our universal mother. Maharaj emphasized on the imperative need to give absolute care and protection to cows. And Maharaj was very pleased to see that devotees at ISV have already taken a baby step towards protecting a cow. At ISV, we have a supply of around 35 gallons of \u201cAhimsa Milk\u201d (milk from protected cows), which is offered to our Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madanmohan, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Deva and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and also consumed by devotees.
