This year, 2015, we will begin our observances with the 50th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada\u2019s arrival in the US, and quickly move on to 2016, just one year away. Continental and regional committees have been formed and are active. <\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n

But, recently our International Coordinator, Ajay Kumar prabhu from the UK has had to step down from this service, due to personal circumstances. We thank him for his excellent service in mobilizing devotees for planning their 50th anniversary celebrations. <\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n

We now need to try to fill this position as soon as possible. A service description follows.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n

Service Description <\/h1>\n

Mission:<\/h3>\n

To help develop, promote, encourage, and coordinate celebration of ISKCON\u2019s 50th<\/sup> Anniversary around the world.<\/p>\n

Authority:<\/h3>\n

ISKCON International 50th<\/sup> Anniversary Committee<\/p>\n

Time and budget:<\/h3>\n

  • \n

    Estimated 15 to 20 hours per week service<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Budget for office expenses and travel is available<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Requirements:<\/h3>\n

      Strong Leadership skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Management Experience<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Strong Communication skills, including writing and speaking <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Basic Computer skills, including some basic web management experience <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Proficient in English (additional languages a plus)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Strategic Planning skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Responsibilities:<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • \n

        Working in conjunction with the 50th<\/sup> Anniversary Committee and International Communications Committee: Develop an International Anniversary Strategy (IAS)\u2014including recommended events, themes, and goals\u2014to promote and celebrate ISKCON\u2019s 50th<\/sup> Anniversary <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Attend bi-monthly meetings with the International Anniversary Committee and provide progress reports <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Develop and maintain relationships\/communication, and provide ongoing consultation with key ISKCON leaders and leadership bodies internationally to encourage regional planning and celebration of ISKCON\u2019s 50th<\/sup> Anniversary<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Coordinate with Regional\/Continental Anniversary Coordinators when\/if in place; and participate in Continental strategy conference calls as needed to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Promote adherence to 50th<\/sup> Anniversary themes and goals by ISKCON Regions, Temples and Communities <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Ensure regular information about the 50th<\/sup> Anniversary is distributed to ISKCON leaders, temples, websites, and members in increasing frequency as the Anniversary draws closer<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Work with the Communication Ministry to coordinate and distribute information and media releases about the 50th<\/sup> Anniversary to appropriate venues <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          \n
        • \n

          Serve as an ISKCON 50th<\/sup> Anniversary spokesperson when required <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Respond to inquiries about the 50th<\/sup> Anniversary <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Provide Anniversary reports and updates for the GBC Body to review at its two annual meetings<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Oversee the development of promotional materials, as required <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Assist in maintaining an Anniversary website, by providing information to the webmaster, or directly uploading if possible<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
