Elementary and Middle School Teacher Positions Available <\/p>\n

Teaching Positions available starting August 2015 for the Alachua Learning Center Public Charter School located next to the ISKCON Temple in Alachua, FL. ALC, a family-oriented K-8 school, has been a state-recognized Grade A high-performing school since 2002. Previous teaching experience and teacher certification required. First Grade Teacher<\/p>\n

Middle School Language Arts Teacher <\/p>\n

Job Purpose:<\/p>\n

Promotes and nurtures the education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study; monitoring, assisting with, and correcting academic efforts; providing a safe, family environment conducive to learning; and keeping parents informed.<\/p>\n

Duties:<\/p>\n

* Educates students by planning and developing course of study according to curriculum guidelines, school district, and state requirements.<\/p>\n

* Tailors course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic ability and previous achievement.<\/p>\n

* Develops and presents a variety of lesson plans including student centers, cooperative grouping, lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, library resources, interactive plans using SMARTboards and other technologies.<\/p>\n

* Monitors, assists, corrects, and grades student results by preparing assignments and tests for in-school preparation and homework. Conducts standardized tests in accordance with district policies and state law.<\/p>\n

* Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures. Complies with legal regulations.<\/p>\n

* Keeps parents informed by maintaining records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation. Reports on all elements of student development at parent-teacher conferences, both regularly scheduled and as-needed.<\/p>\n

* Provide support services by monitoring halls, study periods, and lunchroom. Sponsors student organizations or activities and attends school functions.<\/p>\n

* Participates in professional development by attending faculty meetings, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.<\/p>\n

* Enhances school’s reputation by accepting leadership to accomplish innovative projects. Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.<\/p>\n
