He recently played in Victoria, Canada (October 8, 2015), spreading his now familiar message of “peace and love” along with “Hare Krishna.” During his second song, “It Don’t Come Easy,” co-written with George Harrison and a big hit for Ringo in 1971, local concert goers confirm that Ringo enthusiastically shouted, “Hare Krishna” to his adoring audience. So wherever he goes on tour, Ringo is spreading the holy name of Krishna for the spiritual benefit of his many fans both young and old.<\/p>\n “One who chants the holy name of the Lord is immediately freed from the reactions of unlimited sins, even if he chants indirectly [to indicate something else], jokingly, for musical entertainment, or even neglectfully. This is accepted by all the learned scholars of the scriptures.”<\/p>\n (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 6.2.14)<\/p>\n In a recent interview, Ringo was asked how he remains so vibrant and youthful at age 75, and he replied that it’s in part due to being a strict vegetarian and also from meditating every day. Commenting further, Ringo stated: “I don\u2019t need a lot of food, and eat a lot of broccoli, berries, fruit. I\u2019ll eat anything that comes out of the ground, but won\u2019t touch it if it lives on the ground.”<\/p>\n Flashing the peace sign, preaching vegetarianism and spreading Hare Krishna wherever he goes makes Ringo a shining light in the firmament of modern day pop and rock stars.<\/p>\n “Try to make this Hare Krishna Movement popular through any source that is possible.
