Out of these, we as a community are always engaged in cow protection.<br \/>\nNow some recognized researchers like Alan Savory speak on desertification, climate change and environmental degradation are just beginning to recognize what has always existed in our Vedic texts, that cows are required for our own planets survival and as a species.  Is this is one of the reasons that Mother Earth (Bhumi Mata) takes the form of a cow?
