I took the part of Advaita, and our friends, others, somebody took the part of Caitanya, Nityananda. So that drama was so successful, it was unique in Calcutta. Because we were not, we were not professionals. I saw from the stage a huge gathering, they’re all crying. I was surprised, “Why these people are crying?” You see? It was great successful, because we were not professionals. We were not devotees at that time, but some of us were devotee by family tradition, but not exactly what is actually meant by devotee. But still, because we were not professionals, the drama was so successful, unique.\u201d<\/p>\n (Srila Prabhupada, Conversations, Montreal, August 26, 1968)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Prabhupada: This is the age for injecting Krishna consciousness. If children are taught Krishna consciousness from this age, the face of the world will be different.<\/p>\n (Srila Prabhupada, Conversations, Montreal, October 27, 1968)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Following the example of veteran actor great-grandfather Srila Prabhupada, four members of the Sri Mayapur International School \u2013 Narada Muni (age 7), Sita (age 7), Ramananda Raya (4 \u00bd) and Bhakta Vatsala (5 \u00bd ) dressed up as Sri Rama, Sita devi, Laksmana and Hanuman respectively on the Auspicious Day or Lord Ramacandra\u2019s Appearance day.<\/p>\n They rode on a rikshaw chariot to the temple, greeted the Deities and did a small performance on a side-stage.<\/p>\n Not only did they capture the audience\u2019s hearts with their dress and serious performance, but parents felt the great importance of engaging children in this way. \u201cMy son was up till late the previous night, just discussing how he would dress and what they were supposed to do. He was so excited and happy. This day will be a lasting memory in his life,\u201d one Mother commented.<\/p>\n Indeed drama, parades or just dressing up are all nice ways to engage children during festivals.<\/p>\n The morning program in Mayapur was later followed by the Abhiseka of the large Sita-Rama-Laksmana-Hanuman Deities accompanied by sweet Mayapur Kirtana. Another parade followed in the evening when the Deities were taken round the ISKCON Campus for a cool and refreshening evening ride and for all to have Darshan.<\/p>\n sakrd eva prapanno yas \u201cIt is My vow that if one only once seriously surrenders unto Me, saying \u201cMy dear Lord, from this day I am Yours,\u201d and prays to Me for courage, I shall immediately award courage to that person, and he will always remain safe from that time on.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n This verse from the Ramayana (Yuddha-kanda 18.33) was spoken by Lord Ramacandra, and quoted by Lord Caitanya (Madhya Lila 22:34)<\/p>\n Reported by Ila devi dasi, Mayapur Prabhupada: This is the age for injecting Krishna consciousness.
