We are high school students located in Cumming GA, USA. As founders of a non-profit organization we have raised over $20000 so far, 100% of which has been donated to iskcon related philanthropic activities in India. The money we raise helps many people get free cataract surgeries (through Bhktivedanta hospital), funds eco-friendly project in Mumbai called Govardhan Eco Village, provides hospice care to terminally ill patients in Mumbai- all through the donations made to Share Your Care, and sponsors free food for thousands of impoverished children across India and other countries through Food for Life.<\/p>\n
Our non-profit academy, Motivate & Inspire Inc, is an academy of students, by students and for students. Our mission is to provide quality academic help while raising funds to serve those in need. We recruit talented high school students to teach students in all grades and in all subjects. The tutors get volunteer service hours and every dollar raised is given in charity. We have been successful in positively engaging the youth of the community while also generating funds that will be given back to the community. Tutors gain the satisfaction of serving the society by sharing knowledge in subjects they enjoy and excel in. Simultaneously, students gain a better understanding of the academic subjects because tutors in high school can connect with them well.<\/p>\n
We encourage students with various skills to share their expertise with other children. Last summer we held week long summer camps at a very reasonable price relieving parents from staying home, while imparting quality knowledge by teaching math, science, language arts along with several interactive science experiments. Many children look forward to these camps as summer arrives. The sense of satisfaction and happiness we get by sharing our knowledge and donating the raised funds is something much beyond playing video games or sports. We want to share these feelings, to encourage other students to join our academy locally or remotely or to start something similar to give back. It involves the kind of addiction that you want to have throughout your whole life.<\/p>\n
During our recent visit to India we met Vrajsundar Prabhu from Bhaktivedanta hospital who kindly took us on a tour to the various projects our funds are supporting. We were fortunate to visit GEV too.<\/p>\n
