{"id":4050,"date":"2007-08-07T09:39:44","date_gmt":"2007-08-07T08:39:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=4050"},"modified":"2007-08-07T09:39:44","modified_gmt":"2007-08-07T08:39:44","slug":"vancouver%e2%80%99s-34th-annual-jagannatha-ratha-yatra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=4050","title":{"rendered":"Vancouver\u2019s 34th Annual Jagannatha Ratha-Yatra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src='http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SkytrainPostersrewoard.jpg' alt='' \/><br \/>\nVancouver\u2019s 34th Annual<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChariot Festival\u201d Jagannatha Ratha-Yatra<\/p>\n<p>will take place on<\/p>\n<p>Sunday August 12th<\/p>\n<p>in Stanley Park at Second Beach.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cChariot Parade\u201d Ratha-Yatra<\/p>\n<p>will begin at 11:30 AM from under the Granville St Bridge<\/p>\n<p>on Beach Ave and proceed along Beach Ave<\/p>\n<p>to Second Beach in Stanley Park.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFestival of India\u201d<\/p>\n<p>will begin after the Parade<\/p>\n<p>at 1:00 PM in Stanley Park at Second Beach<\/p>\n<p>The Festival of India will include Live Entertainment on Two Stage Featuring<\/p>\n<p>Bhartnatyam Dances, Live Theatre and Music Yoga &#038; Meditation, Puppet Theatre, Balloon Artists, Gift Shop &#038; Books, Mendhi Hand Tattoos, Face Painting, Palmistry, Children\u2019s Fun Tents and much more.<\/p>\n<p>A Free Vegetarian Feast will be served throughout the day to an estimated 10,000 guests<\/p>\n<p>A special parking shuttle bus will operate throughout the day to take festival goers from the festival site back to their parked cars along Beach Ave.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;d like to thank all the Vancouver devotees for the wonderful<\/p>\n<p>Rathayatra festival. Among the many Rathayatra festivals I traveled to<\/p>\n<p>this year with the Youth Bus Tour, I think the Vancouver festival was<\/p>\n<p>rivaled only by the festival in L.A.
