Malati devi dasi: Hare Krishna. It has come to my attention from a very senior devotee that some folks consider the Vaishnavi Retreat to be an extension of the “Feminist Movement”. I would like to declare that this is a misnomer. The Retreat is for women, by women in the service and mood of Srila Prabhupada, connecting to and reflecting his divine teachings. Some of the presentations for this year’s Retreat include a discourse on Bhagavad Gita; “Over coming offensive Chanting;” Deity Sewing; Bhaktivinode Thakur’s Bhajans; “Exploring the Secrets of Siksastakam;” “Preparing Healthy Delicious Prasadam;” as well as “Values of a Health Krishna Concious Family.” This is only a sample of the many offerings. Presenters include senior Vaishnaiv’s such as H. G Rukmini devi dasi (ACBSP), Mahara devi dasi (ACBSP), Mrgaksi devi dasi (ACBSP), Archana Siddhi devi das (ACBSP), Gopi Mati devi dasi (ACBSP), Krishna Nandini devi dasi (ACBSP), Nidra devi dasi (ACBSP), Narayani devi dasi (ACBSP), Mukhya devi dasi
\n(ACBSP) among other dedicated practicing Vaishnavi’s. It is my desire to see all living entities inspired to serve the Sankirtan Movement as exemplified by Srila Prabhupada and the Retreat is offered in that mood.<\/p>\n
It is sad that misconceptions are allowed to continue, in spite of half a decade of successful Retreats, depriving anyone of the valuable association offered during the Retreat. I sincerely invite anyone with doubts about the integrity and quality of the Retreat to find out for themselves just how wonderful this experience it by attending the Retreat on Oct. 5th, 6th, and 7th in New Vrindaban.<\/p>\n
