Escaping a Dark Future \u2026
\nGiriraj Swami: On Srila Prabhupada\u2019s morning walk on November 16, 1975, I told him about a recent interview with a scientist who had said, \u201cWe don\u2019t know where the ingredients came from, but we\u2019re sure that there\u2019s \u2026\u201d
\n\u201cThen why do you talk nonsense?\u201d Prabhupada challenged the scientist. \u201cYou do not know. Then what is the use of talking nonsense? You do not know from where these ingredients have come. Our answer is\u2014Krishna reveals\u2014aham sarvasya prabhavo mattah sarvam pravartate: \u2018The ingredients come from Me.\u2019\u201d
\n\u201cWhen the reporter asked the scientist where the things come from, he said he doesn\u2019t know, but he\u2019s sure that he doesn\u2019t \u2026\u201d
\n\u201cStill, he is scientist,\u201d Prabhupada said sarcastically. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t know. Still, he is scientist. Just see the contradiction. And we have to hear from him\u2014the unfortunate position. We say, \u2018Go for scientific knowledge to a person who knows, who has seen.\u2019 And this rascal says, \u2018I do not know; still, I am scientist.\u2019 Then what he replied?\u201d
\n\u201cHe doesn\u2019t know, but he\u2019s sure that they don\u2019t need God to explain it.\u201d
\n\u201cThat he knows\u2014how to deny God. That he is expert. And the newspaper reporter accepted this?\u201d
\n\u201cNo. He didn\u2019t express his point of view, but you could see he wasn\u2019t satisfied. Then he asked the scientist about the future.\u201d
\n\u201cThe future is darkness,\u201d Prabhupada said, \u201cbecause these are scientists. He doesn\u2019t know; still, he is scientist. The future is darkness, because a person who doesn\u2019t know has become leader. Andha yathandhair upaniyamana. If a blind man becomes the leader of other blind men \u2026 So, the reporter was not satisfied?\u201d
\n\u201cNo,\u201d I answered. \u201cThen he asked the scientist about the future. And the scientist said the population will go on increasing more and more, and there won\u2019t be enough food, so everyone will starve.\u201d
\n\u201cThen what your scientific knowledge will help?\u201d Prabhupada again challenged the scientist.
\n\u201cThen the reporter asked him what his personal plans were for the future. So he said he likes one girl and wants to get married, and that\u2019s all.\u201d
\n\u201cIncrease the population,\u201d Brahmananda joked, and the devotees laughed.
\nThen Prabhupada gave the final, perfect conclusion: \u201cOur plan is the best: before meeting such catastrophes, go back home, back to Godhead.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
