After You steal butter, Your earrings dance and shine
\nas You flee Your mother in Gokula pastimes.
\nThough you are all blissful, all knowing, ever-new
\nGreatest of controllers, Your mother controls You.<\/p>\n

She shows You the stick and she binds You by the waist.
\nAs You rub Your frightened eyes, tears roll down Your face.
\nSobbing and quick breaths make Your necklace of pearls shake.
\nRopes of her love bind You in Your mother’s embrace.<\/p>\n

Relishing Your childhood activities like this,
\nYou plunge Your devotees in deep oceans of bliss.
\nThough many revere You, by love You are subdued.
\nAgain and again, Lord, I bow down before You.<\/p>\n

Although You give freedom, I don’t ask to be free,
\nNor do I want anything You could offer me.
\nI only request that Your sweet childhood pastimes
\nEver be enacted in my heart and my mind.<\/p>\n

Curly hair encircles Your face of blackish-blue.
\nKisses make Your cheeks look like red bimba fruit.
\nMay this sublime vision be all that I can see.
\nAny other treasure has no value to me.<\/p>\n

Damodar! O Vishnu! O Lord beyond compare,
\nBe pleased with a soul sunk in oceans of despair.
\nUplift and protect me with glances from Your eyes;
\nShower Your compassion like rainfall from the sky.<\/p>\n

Two sons of Kuvera were cursed to stand as trees;
\nYou gave them the chance to become Your devotees.
\nMy Lord, will You offer the same blessing to me?
\nI don’t want to merge with Your identity.<\/p>\n

Although in Your belly the universe is found,
\nYour mother’s effulgent rope has Your belly bound.
\nI bow to that rope and to Radha, Your most dear,
