\nVijaya Dasa: While in Alachua, I gave a Bhagavatam class about book distribution. A Vaishnavi, Guru Prasad devi dasi, commented on an experience she had distributing books.
\nShe was distributing at Dallas airport without much success, but she was still happily approaching people.
\nA lady sitting nearby was watching and finally walked up to her and asked what she was doing. This lady was shown the books, and she was surprised that people were not interested because they appeared to be nice books.
\nShe said, \u201cI\u2019ll take one.\u201d She told her husband to give a donation. He gave two hundred dollars.
\nGuru Prasad was very surprised and asked the couple, \u201cCan I give you more books?\u201d
\nThey said, \u201cOK, give us what you have.\u201d
\nShe then gave them a stack of books. And the man gave her even more laxmi, adding up to $500.
\nGuru Prasad usually signs the books and also writes the name of the person receiving the books.
\nShe asked the name of the person and she responded, \u201cLucille Ball.\u201d The devotee wrote the name, like she would any name.
\nThen Lucille asked, \u201cDo you know who I am?
\n\u201cNo, should I?\u201d
\n\u201cYou never saw my TV show: \u201cI Love Lucy\u201d?
\n\u201cNo, I\u2019m from Guayana.\u201d
\n\u201cOK, that explains it.\u201d
\nThen she and her husband went on their happy way with Prabhupada\u2019s books\u2026 . She was one of the most famous actresses and comediennes on American TV, and the first female to run a major Hollywood studio. This incident happened many years ago.
