Well, the title says it all. Of course when i got up this morning i thought to myself – maybe i should take the camera today just in case i want some photos – and then i didn’t take it.<\/p>\n

What a knob i was. Get into Leicester Square to find it’s West End Live this weekend. This means that in the square all the different theatre shows that are playing at the moment all give a short performance from some section of their show. I saw some of STOMP and something else that i can’t remember. It was fantastic. Big screens were up as well just in case people didn’t see from in the small grassed area, obviously today was the Australian vs Brazil game as well so there were seas of yellow and green everywhere…..although trying to tell who was supporting who was difficult unless they had their flags!<\/p>\n

Then we get to the edge of Leicester Square outside the Trocodero and Planet Hollywood…going towards Oxford Circus……and there is a massive Krsna parade. They had massive floats and all of them were following and dancing and beating drums and handing out chocolate slice and things like that. There were singers and all sorts of thing and they just went nuts. Each time they paused someone would start a faster banging on their drums and the crowds of them went wild. They love a good dance! They were going down to Trafalgar Square for a massive party -we saw it on the way into town and there were heaps of coloured tents and all sorts of things. The krsnas were having a party afternoon and it was all free indian and other foods. Basically they said come and party we’re having free food and drinks all afternoon until late tonight so don’t spend the afternoon in a restaurant. They were really friendly. Have to give them their dues……they may by as annoying as the jo-ho’s on the streets but for their parade they weren’t half bad. Walked on to Virgin at Oxford Circus and there was this dude who’s always there with his megaphone preaching about Jesus and come and get saved stuff….seriously this guy is ALWAYS there…..rain, sun, some more rain….i think he lives on that traffic island really.<\/p>\n

Other news. For the week i had a job interview at a school called Brentford School for Girls (obviously in Brentfod) and the school looks gorgeous….like a school and not a prison. Have to go in for a teaching day (they make you teach a lesson before they decide to take you as they don’t have a central education body here…schools pretty much get free reign) so that should be good. I finally decided to do something pro-active about changing schools after a massive fight in one of my lessons again last week. It was my year 9s and the two boys had a punch up in the beginning of the lesson…you know what that means for the rest of the lesson. After it was over some of the girls were trying to start it again by saying stuff to the boys….very petty.<\/p>\n

Well that’s all really. This weekend has been very relaxing. Dinner with friends on Saturday night after doing nothing for the day…very nice. Sunday (today) woke up late after going to bed again ..different story…..and then went for a wander in town….got some soundtracks and then watched the parade and came home again. Finally it’s blowing a nice evening breeze. So, as I add some photos to this blogger I will be half watching the repeat screening of Dr Who as the one shown last night had severe interference and it was unwatchable and we kept losing sound and pictures etc. Hopefully it’s better.<\/p>\n
