Job Title Book Sales Coordinator<\/p>\n

General Purpose<\/p>\n
The Book Sales Coordinator’s service is to promote the culture of selling, studying, and living by the teachings of Srila Prabhupada’s books. They do this by maintaining a strong personal sadhana and study, developing loving relationships with the community of devotees, and sharing the teachings of Krishna Consciousness with a mature and compassionate mood.<\/p>\n
Key Tasks and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Managing all areas of book distribution: Personally selling books, following up with book recipients, encouraging other book sales teams, ordering books from BBT and other publishers, organizing\/maintaining book room including monthly book inventory.<\/p>\n
Coordinating special events: Planning and facilitating book distribution and mantra meditation tables\/teams at major festivals, smaller events, outreach posts in the local area, and monthly sankirtan festival. Coordinating outreach event details, including necessary permits, volunteers, prasadam, etc.<\/p>\n
Mentoring newcomers & congregation members: Coordinating the temple\u2019s welcome\/hospitality team, mentoring new community members, helping to host the weekly Bhakti Lounge program, including marketing and communication.<\/p>\n
Experience and Ability<\/p>\n
Prior experience with book sales.<\/p>\n
Commitment to regular attendance in the morning program, beginning at 4:30am. <\/p>\n
Holds valid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
Organization, communication, and networking skills.<\/p>\n
Competent computer skills.<\/p>\n
Compensation<\/p>\n
Room and board provided on the ISKCON of DC temple property.<\/p>\n
$1200 maximum monthly living allowance (based on monthly book sale profits).<\/p>\n
Five weeks annual paid leave.<\/p>\n
