{"id":5642,"date":"2008-04-12T21:31:37","date_gmt":"2008-04-12T20:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=5642"},"modified":"2008-04-12T21:33:03","modified_gmt":"2008-04-12T20:33:03","slug":"a-fool-for-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=5642","title":{"rendered":"A Fool for Love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Karnamrita dasa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Is it really so surprising<br \/>\nthat anyone&#8211;even a senior&#8211;<br \/>\nwould be a fool<br \/>\nfor love and intimacy?<\/p>\n<p>So many are affected<br \/>\nby the lure of infatuated love,<br \/>\nthe need to be understood, appreciated<br \/>\nand accepted by a dear friend.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever I hear or<br \/>\nmake a criticism, I know<br \/>\nwhat I see is also<br \/>\nwithin me, at least potentially.<\/p>\n<p>Criticizing another is<br \/>\nputting my self above them,<br \/>\nforgetting my own defects<br \/>\nand vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the loudest judgment<br \/>\narises from hidden secrets<br \/>\nof those with similar problems<br \/>\nor who fear that part of themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly there are standards<br \/>\nto be encouraged and upheld, yet<br \/>\nthe shortcomings we notice in others<br \/>\noften says more about us than them.<\/p>\n<p>Is our first reaction<br \/>\nanger and indignation,<br \/>\nor do we feel compassion<br \/>\nand think to reach out to help?<\/p>\n<p>We are so quick to<br \/>\nforget the value of a person,<br \/>\nthe good they have done, to speak<br \/>\ntheir infamy with four mouths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Karnamrita dasa: Is it really so surprising that anyone&#8211;even a senior&#8211; would be a fool for love and intimacy?
