By Hrimati dasi<\/strong><\/p>\n Hare Krishna! Today the Principal Chief Wildlife Warden of West Bengal State, Mr. S. S. Bist, and the local District Forest Officer for Nadia District, Mrs. Lipika Ray along with two other Forest Officers, came to Mayapur to make an inspection of our Elephant Place and the Elephant Laksmipriya.<\/p>\n I could tell right away that Mr. Bist was not only the Wildlife Warden by title, but was indeed a very compassioned person towards Animals. When we met his team at the main gate of the ISKCON Caitanya Chandrodaya Mandir campus, I told him that the place where we keep the Elephant is a bit of a walk. It was a hot day today, so I asked him if he would like to take his car. Mr. Bist pointed out to me a small Stray dog that was sitting under his car. “I think I rather walk, because our car is providing shade from the hot sun to this poor little dog.”<\/p>\n Mr. Bist, also the former Director, Project Elephant of India, is very expert in the management of domestic Elephants. He was basically satisfied with the service we are giving to the elephant Laksmipriya. The one thing he stressed to me most, was, for Laksmipriya not to be lonely, we should hurry and get the second Elephant!
