But the world\u2019s most prominent religious leaders have come together to present a different vision of how faith can work in the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>                                                                        <!-- entry_paragraph_1_ad --><\/p>\n<div id=\"entry_paragraph_1\" class=\"entry-body--paragraph-ad\">\n<div class=\"ad_spot \">\n\t              \t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In a rare move, major religious leaders \u2015 from Pope Francis to the Dalai Lama \u2015 issued a joint appeal Wednesday asking people to follow a simple bit of advice: Make friends with people of other faiths.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                                                                    <!-- entry_paragraph_2_ad --><\/p>\n<div id=\"entry_paragraph_2\" class=\"entry-body--paragraph-ad\">\n<div class=\"ad_spot \">\n\t              \t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur advice is to make friends to followers of all religions,\u201d Ayatollah Sayyid Fadhel Al-Milani, one of the U.K.\u2019s most senior Shia Muslim clerics, said in a video recording. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPersonal contact, personal friendship, then we can exchange a deeper level of experience,\u201d the Dalai Lama said.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                        <!-- entry_paragraph_3_ad --><\/p>\n<div id=\"entry_paragraph_3\" class=\"entry-body--paragraph-ad\">\n<div class=\"ad_spot \">\n\t              \t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Pope Francis chose to speak about his <a href=\"http:\/\/en.radiovaticana.va\/news\/2017\/02\/23\/pope_francis_greetings_to_rabbi_skorka,_jewish_delegation\/1294454\" target=\"_blank\">long friendship with the Argentinian Rabbi Abraham Skorka<\/a>, who also appeared in the video.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy religious life became richer with his explanations, so much richer,\u201d Francis said of Skorka. \u201cAnd I guess the same happened for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                                                                        <!-- entry_paragraph_4_ad --><\/p>\n<div id=\"entry_paragraph_4\" class=\"entry-body--paragraph-ad\">\n<div class=\"ad_spot \">\n\t              \t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cMake Friends\u201d is an initiative of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elijah-interfaith.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Elijah Interfaith Institute<\/a>, an interfaith organization with offices in Israel and the United States.
