Sometimes we get into difficult situations and we\u2019re really attached to something, we think it\u2019s the most important thing in the world and we\u2019re terribly, terribly frustrated about everything. And then some simple devotee comes to you and says \u201cWell, everything is temporary. Don\u2019t be attached\u2026\u201d. And then we get very angry, we think \u201cWhy doesn\u2019t this idiot actually understand my real crisis that\u2019s going on!\u201d. Everyone ever been in this situation? [saying with a smile]\nYou know, when you\u2019re like, you\u2019re totally disturbed when you\u2019re materially attached, and then you have a simple, pure bhakta coming to you and he is just \u201cBut, Prabhu, but don\u2019t be attached, your problems are all on the basis of, you know, material attachment. And anything that you\u2019re attached to materially is just going to cause you the suffering.\u201d
\nAnd then we go \u201cOh, you, insensitive idiot!\u201d [laughing] You know, \u201cWhy don\u2019t you understand what\u2019s going on inside of me? Why are you so superficial to say something like that? Why don\u2019t you understand the real situation?\u201d You see\u2026
\nThat\u2019s because the material perspective is there. Like Prabhupada said that Krishna Consciousness is very simple for people who are simple-hearted and it is very difficult for people who have complicated hearts.
\nYou see, it\u2019s like you have simple consciousness and somebody says \u201cWell, you\u2019re suffering because of matter\u201d, we go \u201cDah! That\u2019s a fact\u2026 that\u2019s a fact\u2026\u201d. And then we think \u201cWell, I should do something to change\u201d. You see, but if consciousness if very crooked, then when sufferings come we become very-very disturbed.
\nIf one is fixed in Krishna Consciousness then the perspective of that person will be that \u201cI\u2019m Krishna\u2019s servant.\u201d And under any circumstance I should serve the devotees and I should serve my spiritual master, I should serve the orders of the Lord. And then success will come.
\nBut, on the other side, if the person is not fixed in this consciousness then it means that he is living in the world of mental concoction. In Bhagavatam it says \u201cMano-rathena asati\u201d , which means he is living on the chariot of mind. It says \u201cMano-ratha\u201d, the mental chariot. And this way Bhagavatam defines that the person who is living in the mental realm, he has no qualities whatsoever.<\/p>\n
