Krishnanagar is the municipal and administrative headquarters for the district of Nadia in West Bengal.  Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur worked here as a magistrate when he first started exploring the Holy Dhama to re-discover the lost Holy places.  He also wrote his famous \u201cNavadvip-Dhama-Mahatmya\u201d whilst residing here.<\/p>\n<p>Three buses of devotees left Mayapur at 2:30 pm, Monday 15th September, after a heavy downpour of rain which delayed the buses.  The Harinam commenced from the Foreign Registration Offices, through the busy shopping areas, past the municipality. New banners added colour to the occasion \u2013  devotees carried pictures of Srila Prabhupada, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Maharaja, Srila Bhaktivinode Thakura and Lord Caitanya.
