By Hari Narayana Das<\/strong><\/p>\n Lampung Krakatau Festival is the core event of Lampung regional tourism which is held every year, in 2018 stepping on the 28th implementation. Aside from being an activity to commemorate the eruption of Mount Krakatau on August 26 and 27, 1883, this tourism activity is a means of appreciation and preservation of regional art and culture as well as introducing Lampung Tourism Objects and Attraction. This event presents a variety of main activities and several supporting events that are very interesting as a dish, a means of appreciation of cultural arts and enjoying the hospitality of the people of Lampung in the diversity of culture, ethnicity and customs through the Regional Cultural Carnival Parade and enjoying the beauty of natural charm. Devotees who reside in Lampung also got invitation as part of the diversity and they presented Jagannatha Ratha yatra to the thousands of Lampung people.<\/p>\n \u201cMake the Ratha-yatra festival very great success. This will be a great introduction in your city and people will appreciate it\u201d SPL to Syamasundara, 4th May 1967<\/p>\n enthusiasm was the spirit of the devotees prepared the festival. A day before the festival devotees prepare the paraphernalia of the of the festival. Prahlad and kunti devi preaching center as the basecamp of the festival. in the evening the electricity in the area of the basecamp faded out but devotees continued the preparation even using candles as the light.<\/p>\n On the day of the festival devotees gathered in front of Sriwijaya fertilizer office. A big pandal and stage were prepared for the opening of the ratha yatra. devotees invited the leader of Lampung Hindu Parisad, the Hindu society councellor. The opening dance was presented in front of the Lord by devotees. the welcome speech was given to address the guests, then continued speech by the Hindu society coucellor and he remainded the devotees to keep humble and meek in behaviour. Then arari were offered to the Lord and all devotees did kirtan in front of the Chariot. After Lord was offered Arati, devotees prepared coconut then offered it to the lord as the sign that the ratha yatra was started. After waiting for some time on the queue, then the devotees pulled the Lord through the crowded of the visitor toward the main stage where the governor of and his staffs waited to see the parade. When the announcer announced that the devotees entered the main stage and devotees offered flowers garland that already offered to Lord Jagannath to the governor. After received the garland, suddenly Mr. governor left the stage and asked the photographer to take his pictures in front of the chariot. What the governor did surprised the devotees and all devotees loudly chant \u201cHari bolo\u2026Hari Bolo\u2026Jay Jagannath..\u201d the devotees then pulled the lord to the finished line, distributing Lord Jagannatha maha prasadam in form of oo and they took rest for some time before honouring prasadam.<\/p>\n Hundreds kilometres from Lampung, devotees in Probolinggo also flowed in the euphoria of Jagannath ratha yatra. Unlike the previous year, this cultural parade route was shortened so that people could enjoy the cultural offerings and attractions of the contingents, from close and dynamic. At this cultural parade, the route is only about 350 meters. Start from the west of Aisyah Hospital, west to the front of the Probolinggo City Government Secretariat. <\/p>\n Semipro itself, is the annual event of the City of Probolinggo. This included the 73rd anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, and the 659th<\/sup> anniversary of Probolinggo. This time, the cultural parade was attended by 37 participants. From the private sector, regional apparatus organizations, banking, and Sri Jagannatha on Ratha yatra. <\/p>\n A day before the festival devotees prepared the chariot. Some devotees from Bali also came to give a hand in preparing the festival. from making garland, decorating the chariot the did the in the mood of devotional service. <\/p>\n On the day of the festival, final preparation was made. devotees did morning sadhana from mangala arati and finished their chanting round. At 08.00 Ratha yatra ceremonial started. The lord were placed on the chaiot and pujari offered bhoga then followed by arati. After arati devotees offered coconut and then all devotees pullled the chariot to the start poin. <\/p>\n Looking at the location, the community packed a number of streets that were passed by this Cultural Parade. In the event, the parade participants displayed various arts. They also decorate vehicles with various forms.<\/p>\n The parade started at 14.00 PM. Devotees who already wait under the heat of the sun started pulled the Lord through the crowd of the people. Ecstasy kirtan led by Sundar Gopal and team filled the atmosphere with Hare Krishna Maha mantra. Devotees then dance and sang joyfully in front of Lord chariot. The sankirtan book team went into the crowd distributing Srila Prabhupada\u2019s book. Entering the honouring stage, the Lord and devotees were welcomed by the mayor of Probolinggo, Mrs Rukmini. Devotees then gave Mrs. Rukmini flower garland that already offered to the Lord Jagannath. She happily accepted the give. Some local boys also joyfully pulled Lord Chariot and sang Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. <\/p>\n “For the present you endeavour to make Ratha-yatra festival grand and successful. You should arrange the procession and procedure so nicely that all the neighborhood people may be attracted to join the procession.” (SPL to Upendra, 1st June, 1968)<\/p>\n From start the festival devotees distributed maha prasadam to the people. Arriving at finish poin the devotees sang the glories of Nrasinga deva and the festival closed by honouring prasadam. everyone was happy to participate on the ratha yatra.<\/p>\n A week passed, Thousands of residents poured out at several points of the city of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Saturday (08\/18\/2018). Old people, young to small children seem to be happy to watch the Cultural Development Parade which was held to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia Independence.<\/p>\n The event, which began from noon to evening, was attended by thousands of participants, ranging from the representatives of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, the City Government of Palangka Raya, high schools, private institutions, and residents in the area of Beautiful City and its surroundings. Devotees in central Kalimantan also participated on the carnival. The Hindu parisad of Palangka Raya asked the devotees on behalf of Hindu Parisad to participate on the carnival. The devotees presented Jagannath Ratha Yatra. <\/p>\n Devotees from Palangka Raya and surrounding did preparation of the festival in great joy. Devotees from Bali and Jakarta also came to Palangka Raya to participate and help the preparation of the festival. On the day of festival, the devotees made final preparation before The Lords were place on the chariot. When everything was ready, devotees started the ceremony by placing Lord Jagannath, Lord Balaram, and Subadra Devi on the chariot. The pujari then offered bhoga and followed by arati. After arati devotees offered coconut as the sign of the ratha yatra was started. The devotees then pulled the Lord\u2019 chariot into the main road of Palangka Raya to the field where other participants already there. The Lord Chariot and the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra attracted people there. Many people also participated dance with devotees. After some time waited, the parade started. When the time for the devotees pulled the chariot to the route of the parade, Sundar Gopal and team lead the kirtan that made all devotees sang and dance in ecstasy. Entering the honouring stag, the vice governor of Central Kalimantan welcomed the devotees with applause. Devotees gave flower garland that already offered to the Lord to the Mr. Habib Said Ismail, the vice governor. Then the devotees continued the parade until finish. Devotees distributed prasadam to the people who watched the parade. A good news came when the committee of the parade announced the winner of the parade, the devotees got the second winner and this make them more joy\u2026<\/p>\n “I am so much satisfied with your successful performance of Ratha-yatra festival and I am awaiting to see similar festivals in all our other centers,\u2026.\u201d SPL to Gurudasa, 16th July, 1968.<\/p>\n \u201cI thank you all very much for making the Ratha-yatra festival so successful.
