Today we come together to share a vision for international peace.   In India\u2019s most renown scripture Krishna gives the formula for peace.<\/p>\n<p>TRANSLATION<br \/>\n\u201cOne who is not connected with the Supreme can have neither transcendental intelligence nor a steady mind, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace?\u201d \u2013 Bg. 2.66<\/p>\n<p>The formula for peace is in restoring our lost relationship with the Divine.  From that comes the intelligence to transcend this world, and calm the mind which leads to peace and happiness.<\/p>\n<p>The Vedic tradition endorses people of all faiths in a magnanimously inclusive way.  They explain there is one God, just like there is one sun. We may see him from different perspectives, and call Him by different names but he shines down on people all over the word equally.<\/p>\n<p>            Sadly, the lack of clarity on this point has driven some conditioned souls to drift into the unnatural state of atheism.  The advent of theoretical physics, advanced math, and the theory of evolution are just some of the paradigms that are alluring individuals to abandon their faith in God.  Instead, it has become fashionable to rely only on one\u2019s own very limited, cognitive prowess, in an attempt to figure life out.<\/p>\n<p>The scientific method may appear to be a reliable source of knowledge but the Vedas remind us that all men are cursed with four serious flaws: 1) Imperfect senses 2) Our propensity to make mistakes 3) A proclivity for cheating and 4) The deception of illusions.<\/p>\n<p>            When we grasp this important point, we understand how truly helpless we are.  If we are blessed with grace we realize that reliable knowledge is only revealed by God into the heart of His surrendered agents, from all faiths.<\/p>\n<p>            So, it is incumbent that theists bound by our shared relationship with the divine to work together. This is what lies at the heart of Bhakti Yoga.   It inspires us to model the four legs of dharma, (human duty) which are.  1) Austerity, 2) Cleanliness, 3) Mercy and 4) Truthfulness.  These saintly qualities are taught in all faiths and they naturally develop in the heart of those who aspire to please the Supreme Lord.  It makes little difference how one develops these qualities, or who they learn them from.   The important point is that peace requires a pious civilization. As leaders from our respective traditions it is imperative we acknowledge the piety shared between us and cooperate to lead the way in subduing the crippling forces of atheism.  Restoring love for God, regardless of how we call on Him, is the greatest gift one can give another soul.  It is also the only tangible formula for peace; happiness and the brotherhood of all the creatures.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for patiently allowing me to share Krishna\u2019s peace formula.<br \/>\nHallelujah : Let us joyfully praise God!<br \/>\nAl-laaaa-hu Ab-haaa : God is the Most-Glorious<br \/>\nNamo Budd hay ya:  Homage to Buddha Knowledge Om Ami Dewaj jay: Amitabha) : Be with Buddha<br \/>\nShalom A lei chem : Peace be Unto You<\/p>\n<p>Gods names are empowered with His full potency, so whenever they are heard, regardless if one understands it or not, it is most auspicious.  We chant the Hare Krishna mantra to lift our consciousness from the mundane to spiritual.
