Dear God please help me
\nDear God please help me
\nHare Krishna Hare Krishna
\nchanting toward the wood pile.<\/p>\n
Darkness has fallen felling
\nlike a blanket making
\nthe yard small; another world
\nexisting only as far as the lights.<\/p>\n
I have mentioned my gratitude
\nfor each step taken,
\nbut not why?–no cartilage
\nleft in my knees.<\/p>\n
Pain is increasing in degree
\nthough thankfully tolerable
\ntwo year old diagnosis with
\nremedy of 2 knee replacements.<\/p>\n
My promised abode of happiness
\n& fulfillment is revealing its true colors
\nwith slaps to my face–ow,
\nplanned bodily obsolescence revealed!<\/p>\n
Krishna uses many teaching methods–
\nhearing scriptures and saints is best
\nthough for most, the Hard Knock University
\nof miserable direct experience is required.<\/p>\n
Law of Compensation teaches us:
\nwith anything taken away
\nsomething else is given; the body
\ndwindles, Krishna’s shelter brighter.<\/p>\n
Honestly I don’t like it–
\ndiminished mobility, strength
\nforgetting things, “enjoyment” lessons
\nyet I smile at worldly futility.<\/p>\n
The mind’s sensual desires, to enjoy
\nfame for piety, good works
\nwanting to be special, most dear
\nleaving a legacy to be sung.<\/p>\n
Truly “All is Vanity” in the ego’s
\nworld of selfishness, exploitation
\nwhere it is folly to be wise
\n[and to enjoy] ignorance is bliss.<\/p>\n
Though devotees may stumble, fall
\nat a certain point, our spiritual taste
\ncan’t be forgotten, though we seek escape
\nKrishna, his philosophy are everywhere.<\/p>\n
Every person, circumstance or
\nstage of life can be a guru for us
\nas our service is never forgotten
\nthe world reminds us of our Source.<\/p>\n
For unlimited births we have
\ntried everything possible to
\nmake this world lasting, joyful
\nbut eventually we get kicked out.<\/p>\n
Now we have a chance to progress
\nto our true home, Krishna’s abode–
\ntime is ticking, life is short
\nevery moment we show what we value.<\/p>\n
In one life we will finish
\nour material sojourn–
\nwill it be this one or
\ndo we have other priorities?<\/p>\n
Who is old?
\nA person who is about to die
\nthis is true for all–everyone is old
\nremembering this, call out the Name.<\/p>\n
Like the desperate cry of
\nchild for it’s mother, call
\nout to Krishna, the real friend
\nto please help you awaken!<\/p>\n
