This reputable Brahmin went to India in February  2009and said Jayapataka Maharaj  was very very impressive. He gave class in Mayapura every evening. He talked very softly and slurred and had to have  someone else  say into a microphone what he said because he spoke so softly and slurred his words this devotee spoke  spoke in English and hindi. Every 15 seconds someone would squirt water in Maharaja mouth and move his lips to swallow -(as Maharaj may not be able to do that yet)Still he preached on -night after night. Then one day my Brahmin friend heard a soft kirtan- and he looked for who was singing and it was Maharaj-saying one verse of the somara prayers and Maharaj would take one step-with the wheelchair following close behind-then another verse and another step.he did 108 steps. (with the devotee squirting water in his mouth every 15 seconds) Jayapataka Maharaja refuses to slow down for his condition and is preaching away..<\/p>\n<p>Anyway-I never knew Maharaj was in such poor physical shape and thought he had pretty much recovered.
