who are we
\nbut mist to the sun
\nadrift in time’s
\nshifting sands<\/p>\n
wandering without aim
\nin this fools’ paradise
\nour misplaced desires
\nreaping only bitter fruits<\/p>\n
our evanescent dreams
\nblown to the wind
\nour smiling gardens
\nawash in crimson thorns<\/p>\n
our deluded empires
\nwasted by futility
\nas our wistful hopes
\nsoon turn to ashes<\/p>\n
surely this shadow play
\nhides a deeper meaning
\nwhich suffering distills
\nfor those who want to learn<\/p>\n
into the requisite lessons
\nto further our arduous journey
\nbeyond the hopeless desert
\ntowards the luxuriant oasis<\/p>\n
where the fountain of wisdom
\ncan assuage our ancient thirst
\nfor life-giving truth
\nbeyond this harsh finality<\/p>\n
within so many trials
\na new meaning is revealed
\ntowards the dawn of awareness
\nof our transcendent self<\/p>\n
and of the benevolent Witness
\nWho patiently beckons
\nour sincere petition
\nto understand His ways<\/p>\n
He always knows
\nwhat we require
\nto bring us
\nback to Him<\/p>\n
His gracious hand
\ntenderly pushes us forward
\ntowards His secure shelter
\nwhere everything is understood<\/p>\n
in humble submission
\nto His perfect plans
\nwe at last regain
\nfull trust in our enduring Friend<\/p>\n
as we again consent
\nto His loving embrace
\nwhether in joy and sorrow
\nalways His worthy servant <\/p>\n
if He is pleased
\nwith our sincere heart
\nHe may allow us entrance
\ninto His eternal festival of love<\/p>\n
and thus rejoice
\nin His limitless splendor
\nin full communion
\nwith His Ocean of Love<\/p>\n
