I humbly request all the devotees worldwide to respond to this urgent appeal to help us to continue the Free Prasada distribution during this year Ratha Yatra on 24th June 2009 at Puri dhama.<\/p>\n

For last five years ISKCON Puri has been distributing prasada to around 15,000 to 20,000 pilgrims who visit Puri for attending Ratha Yatra. Many religious institutions usually distribute dry prasada on this Ratha Yatra day but only ISKCON feeds the pilgrims a full meal prasada. ISKCON Free Prasad distribution Camp will be set up on the Grand Road inside a big dharmashalla, with the facility for pilgrims to sit and have prasada. Prasadam distribution takes place non stop from morning till evening. For many pilgrims, it is a great blessing as dining facilities are very limited in Puri and they face problems to get good food. By doing this service ISKCON has earned a good reputation from public and attention of Puri administration. Puri administration recognizes and appreciates ISKCON\u2019s service to pilgrims during Ratha Yatra. Health department has approved the quality of the food after checking the standards.<\/p>\n

For the past five years, we could provide this service as one devotee has been sponsoring generously all these years. Unfortunately, this year it was not possible for him to sponsor the prasada distribution. At this situation, ISKCON Puri has no means to continue this great seva and is planning to stop this on going prasada distribution. At the same time, Puri administration has been requesting us not to stop this program as this will create a great gap in prasada supply to pilgrims.<\/p>\n

This program is advantageous to ISKCON in many ways. Through this program, over a period of years, we have developed good relation with Puri Administration and if at this juncture, we stop the prasada distribution, it will be a disadvantage for ISKCON in establishing good relations with Puri Administration.<\/p>\n

Also while we are serving thousands of pilgrims, it was a good public relations event for ISKCON.<\/p>\n

At this point, as we wish to continue the prasada distribution this year too, I request all the devotees around the world to help us by contributing for this great cause.<\/p>\n

This is an urgent appeal as we have only few days left for Ratha Yatra.<\/p>\n

I am sure who ever will contribute for free prasada distribution in Puri dham especially on Ratha Yatra day will be blessed by Lord Jagannatha.<\/p>\n
