Committee Members Needed<\/p>\n

Radha Selvester: We have had quite a few devotees experience the passing of loved ones \u2013 parent, spouse, sibling, or child. In spite of knowing that we are not these bodies and that the soul is eternal, it is still an emotional struggle to cope with the loss. It is also a logistical challenge to make funeral arrangements, deal with insurance, disperse the loved one\u2019s properties, and so much more. <\/p>\n

Hare Krishna Social Services in conjunction with the three CDI committees (Crisis, Elderly, & Medical) would like to create a committee of 6-8 men and women to be trained to help devotees before, during, and after the death of a loved one. This would include both spiritual and materials actions. We want to help the person leaving his or her body in the most auspicious way. We also want to assist with activities like getting death certificates, dealing with inheritances, and cleaning out the loved ones home. These activities typically fall upon the shoulders of an emotionally overwhelmed family member.<\/p>\n

We have collected a lot of information about these logistics from various sources and have several experts within our community to give guidance about the religious rituals to be performed. Once the committee members are identified, we will arrange the training.
