Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Must be able to attend morning services everyday at 4.30am<\/p>\n

-Willing to participate in services such as prayers, holding discourses for congregation, <\/p>\n

-Should be able to explore innovative methods of promoting spiritual teachings to society such as through drama, dance, social media and music etc<\/p>\n

-Should be between 18 \u2013 40 years<\/p>\n

-Willing to commit 2-3 years to the position<\/p>\n

-Willing to travel.<\/p>\n

-Articulate in speech, people orientated and a good communicator<\/p>\n

– Must have good health <\/p>\n

-Ability to live in a very regulated environment under discipline and authority<\/p>\n

– This would entail living a lifestyle of complete celibacy, no gambling, completely vegetarian diet and no intoxication <\/p>\n

– Also all trainee priests are expected to daily chant a minimum of 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna sound vibration as part of their daily spiritual practices<\/p>\n

– Willing to live in a communal environment with other trainee priests<\/p>\n

Prior requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Must have spent a minimum of 3 months in a Krsna conscious temple living in a monastic setting<\/p>\n

(this should have taken place within the last 2-3 years)<\/p>\n

-Should have 1 years\u2019 experience of chanting 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna mantra everyday<\/p>\n

-Should have a minimum of 6 months experience of living a lifestyle of complete celibacy, no gambling, completely vegetarian diet and no intoxication <\/p>\n

-Must have at least 6 months experience in Krsna conscious outreach work i.e through house programs, spiritual festivals as well as giving temple based lectures etc<\/p>\n

-Must be regularly reading Krsna conscious literature everyday<\/p>\n

*Must have some scholastic understanding of the philosophy, preferably having done a course at one of our Iskcon temples on the level of a bhakta course.<\/p>\n

Thus a having foundational understanding of :<\/p>\n

Vaishnava Devotional practice<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vaishnava Theology and Philosophy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vaishnava Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n

Being Bi-lingual and University educated is also very much desired<\/p>\n

Stipend \u2013 \u00a3500 towards personal needs<\/strong><\/p>\n

*Food, accommodation, transport and all essential utilities provided by the temple<\/strong><\/p>\n

Service hours per week:<\/strong><\/p>\n
