Unrelenting hot weather during January 2019 has also burdened New Gokula Farm, ripping moisture out of the ground and forcing grass to die more quickly. The once luscious pastures have turned brown, the grass is dead, and the animals have no feed. Of course, New Gokula Farm has faced less severe drought conditions before and are also likely to face them again. But with rainfall predictions looking grim in the near future, this weather has taken its toll.

While residents pray the rain may soon arrive, practically on the ground there is hardly any grass growing, and our on-going ability to fund the feed for our friends is minimal. With the harsh winter still not over, New Gokula is struggling financially with the increased electricity costs involved with pumping water to stock troughs and the increasing costs of purchasing feed to keep the animals alive.

One of New Gokula’s objectives is Go-raksha, i.e. cow protection, meaning the animals will never be sent to a slaughterhouse and will live a happy and peaceful existence on the farm until the end of their lives. And this can be possible only with the support of the wider community.

For this purpose, a gofundme page has been set up:
https://www.gofundme.com/n3bq4f-drought-appeal

Alternatively, you can make a donation directly to our bank account(s), details of which are available on New Gokula website at https://www.newgokula.com/donate

Please donate from your heart, and any donation will help make an impact. Your donation will significantly assist with purchasing of hay bales and cattle nuts, supply of clean water for the animals, keeping them fed until spring, vet fees and assisting with other overheads.

New Gokula also request that you share this news with your friends giving them an opportunity to serve these beautiful beings, who are so dear to Krishna. And of course your sincere collective prayers, for rain in this area, will not go unanswered by Krishna.

Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause.

Jayanti Devi dasi
On behalf of
New Gokula Farm

Jayanti Devi dasi: The lack of substantial rain in Australia’s alluring Hunter Valley region for almost two years now has started to impact New Gokula, Millfield, NSW, Australia, the home to the most beautiful deities of Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda, 73 cows and bulls, and 12 full-time residential devotees.

[118

post-77595","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-recent-media
["GET
