Lots of devotees came, several who have not been to RGM in years.<\/p>\n<p>The programs started and ended as per the published schedules, a HUGE step forward. The prasad was absolutely delicious, and everyone attending seemed very happy!<\/p>\n<p>Friday: There were kirtans, three talks on Krishna (three!!) during the evening, a play, bathing of the Deities, and grand darshans. A new concept they tried out was a block party outside the temple from 4 to 9 pm, even while the festivities happened inside. It was complete with stage and sound system for kirtans, and tents for distribution of Prabhupada&#8217;s books and prasad, as well as one for painting gopi dots on passersby.<\/p>\n<p>The block party was universally acknowledged to be a hit, with lots of curious passersby and devotees impacted by it favorably.<\/p>\n<p>The President of Brooklyn boro came and said some nice words to the crowd. He even took a selfie which he posted later on social media!<\/p>\n<p>Saturday: A lot of devotees came, including several Prabhupada disciples. The ceremony to honor Srila Prabhupada was sweet, inclusive, and punctual in its start and end. The prasad was OUTSTANDING!<\/p>\n<p>This two-day festival built on the grand success of this year&#8217;s New York Rath Yatra. So many enthusiastic devotees pitched in to make it happen. Special thanks to the new president Hansarupa prabhu, who was humbly, continually serving on both days, and to his team, including Pragnesh Surti.<\/p>\n<p>Among those cooking were Garuda Hari and Aradhana prabhus.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not been to RGM lately, please go and check out the temple and see Radha Govinda. (\u201cBrooklyn Temple\u201d or \u201cTemple\") won a notable victory in the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court (\u201cAppellate Court\u201d). \n\nA four-judge panel of the Appellate Court denied a motion brought by the Temple\u2019s former directors (\u201cFormer Directors\u201d) for a preliminary injunction prohibiting the Temple\u2019s current directors and officers from undertaking \u201cany conduct . . . outside the ordinary course of business,\u201d including the eviction of residents, the sale of real property and a merger or consolidation. \n\nThe Former Directors evidently failed to convince the Appellate Court that they were likely to succeed on the merits of their claims; that they were likely to suffer \u201cirreparable harm\u201d without preliminary relief; and that the balance of equities between the parties supported a preliminary injunction.\n\nThe above-described developments took place just weeks before the Former Directors\u2019 long-expected filing of a \u201cperfected appeal\u201d from the hugely consequential decision of October 2018 by Justice Jimenez-Salta of the New York State Supreme Court for Kings County. In that decision, the Court deferred to the GBC, as ISKCON\u2019s ultimate managing authority, to remove and replace directors and officers who violate the teachings of ISKCON Founder-Acharya HDG A.C.
