Shortly after entering the renounced order, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu set out on foot to tour the holy places of South India. One of His stops was Sri Rangam, the seat of the Sri Vaisnavas, headed by Sri Ramanujacarya. Lord Caitanya stayed in Sri Rangam for 4 months in the house of Vyenkata Bhatta, whose son later became the famous Gaudiya acarya, Gopal Bhatta Goswami. I visited the descendant of Vyenkata Bhatta whose name is Murli Bhattar, a long-time friend of mine.
