Most of our first-time pilgrims have adapted by now and are thriving on the experience-their smiling faces testify to the truth of this. We will walk from Nandagram to Kokilavan tomorrow, and on the way visit many places of divine pastimes.

Asheshvara Mahadev
About 2km east of Nandgram is Asheshwar Mahadev Temple . It is at this place Shivas’s heartfelt desire to see Krishna got fulfilled.

Ter Kadamba
It is said that Krishna brought His cows to graze here and that He often sat under a Kadamba tree to play His flute and call the cows back when it was time to go home .

Javat
To the north of Nandishvara hill is the town of Javata. That populous town is like the crown jewel of all such towns, and it is the home of Shrimati Radharani’s parents-in-law.

Kokilavan
Kokila means cuckoo, The forest where Krishna made sound like a kokila thus came to be known as kokilavan.

Day – 19 Katha by HH Radha Raman Maharaj

Chalo bhai Ter Kadamb Jaye…

We first did Achaman at Pavan Sarovar. Vishakh Sakhi’s father is Pavan, he made this Sarovar thus it so called as Pavan Sarovar. But he offered to Nanda Maharaj so, it’s Nanda Baba’s Kunda. Krsna takes cows for Gocharan and returns in evening and all cows drink water here.

Aseswara Mahadev

Shiva is sitting here with hope of darsana of Krsna. Once Shivaji came to have darsan of Krsna but he is Avadhuth, does not dress up nicely. He has matted hair and a snake around his neck and asked for Madhukari. He was in form of Sadhu. He said to Yasoda maa, I have heard you have son bring him, I will give him blessings but she refused saying my baby will be scared. So sad, Shiva came in this area and sat with hope of meeting, Krsna. Thus this place is called Aseswara Mahadev as Shivaji waited with hope Krsna started crying for long time, so when other ladies asked who had come home, Yashoda ma narrated and said I refused him darsana . So, ladies called him asked Forgiveness and brought Krsna and Krsna started smiling. They all understood Sadhu was Shivjii. Then she asked how can we serve you. He asked some prasada of Krsna. Since then, there is a small temple Nandiswar Mahadev and till this day after offering Bhoga to Krsna, Krsna Prasada is first offered first to Shiva.

Ter means to call. There was a Big Kadam tree. Here Krsna used to call his cows from that tree.

Rupa Goswami wrote two books here – Lalita Madhav and Vidagdha Madhav.

When Krsna hides himself in cave, then Gopi’s and Radharani would cry. While Srila Rupa Gosvami was writing this lila all the trees would become dry and the leaves would fall. When Rupa Goswami would write that Krsna would meet Radha and Gopis, then again all the trees would again become green and full of leaves and fruits. While Rupa Goswami was staying here, then one day Sanatana Goswami came here. Rupa Goswami would do Madhukari and eat that. But as his elder brother came, so he thought if I could make Kheer. In Bengal, it’s called Paramanna as in place of water, milk is used.

But it was just desire. He had nothing except dry roti. After 15 minutes from Javat side, a very beautiful girl of 10 or 11 years. Looking at her Rupa Goswami was pleased.

She came and said, “Baba, my mother has send milk and Kheer material”
Rupa Goswami said, “Why did she send milk today ?” She said that this is the first milk of a cow after she give birth to a calf. So my mother sent me here.

She said that you know Baba How to make Kheer and that girl put all material and cooking started. Rupa Goswami felt while forest was filled with Aroma of Kheer. It was feeling like Amrita is entering nose.

Then Kheer was offered and brought to Rupa Goswami and he offered to Sanatan Goswami and as he ate astavikar symptoms came in him .

Sanatan Goswami asked, “Where did you get this Kheer?”. Rupa Goswami told the whole story. Sanatan Goswami said, “I want to see that Girl”. Then as they approached Her and She disappeared.

Sanatan Goswami went in the village and searched for that Girl, but did not find. Sanatan Goswami scolded Rupa Goswami, “You have made Radharani serve us. Such were our Pure Goswamis.
Find them here: https://is.gd/QUdt8Z

VRAJA MANDAL PARIKRAMA (Album of photos)
We will be back on Parikrama tomorrow, each day Parikrama comes packaged with fresh adventures, new challenges, and deeper realization of our relationship with Krishna.
