\nAll the unmarried gop\u012bs in V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana used to daily worship goddess K\u0101ty\u0101yan\u012b early in the morning after taking a bath in the river Yamun\u0101. K\u0101ty\u0101yan\u012b is another name for goddess Durg\u0101. <\/p>\n

The goddess is worshiped by preparing a doll made of sand from the bank of the Yamun\u0101. The gop\u012bs used to prepare the deity of goddess Durg\u0101 and worship it with candana pulp, garlands, incense, lamps and all kinds of presentations\u2014fruits, grain and twigs of plants. <\/p>\n

The unmarried girls used to pray with great devotion to goddess K\u0101ty\u0101yan\u012b, addressing her as follows: \u201cO supreme external energy of the Personality of Godhead, O supreme mystic power, O supreme controller of this material world, O goddess, please be kind to us and arrange for our marriage with the son of Nanda Mah\u0101r\u0101ja, K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.\u201d<\/p>\n
