Meditating on the humility of Srila Prabhupada, we can hope to develop humility and increase our appreciation and love for Srila Prabhupada.<\/p>\n
In 1972, in New York, Srila Prabhupada was in the airport with a large group of devotees. He was sitting in the departure lounge. There were so many devotees that the airport authorities were getting disturbed. One of the senior devotees made an announcement, <\/p>\n
“Attention all devotees. We have to leave the departure lounge now to make room for the incoming passengers.”<\/p>\n
No one moved. <\/p>\n
Srila Prabhupada got up and began to leave. <\/p>\n
\u201cNo. No. Not you, Srila Prabhupada!\u201d, the devotee exclaimed.<\/p>\n
Srila Prabhupada is so humble, that when all the devotees were asked to go, he also felt like he was included in that announcement. And even though no one else moved, Srila Prabhupada himself started to leave.<\/p>\n
When Srila Prabhupada writes about himself, he uses phrases like:<\/p>\n
\u201cnot worthy or fit\u201d
\n\u201cvery fallen and insignificant\u201d
\n\u201cI am nonentity\u201d
\n\u201cI am dependent on your mercy\u201d
\n\u201cpersonally I am completely incapable.\u201d
\n\u201cIt is beyond my power.\u201d
\n\u201cI have no credit.\u201d
\n \u201cI am a worthless person.\u201d
\n\u201cI am so feeble and unworthy.\u201d
\n\u201cI am the lowest of the all creatures.\u201d
\n\u201cI am simply messenger.\u201d
\n\u201conly a teeny attempt, and humble attempt\u201d
\n\u201c..simply a humble servant of my spiritual master.\u201d
\n\u201cI am so sinful that I cannot even approach Krishna.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite his unprecedented success as an empowered acarya in spreading Krishna consciousness all over the world, fulfilling the mission of Lord Caitanya, Srila Prabhupada constantly displayed sublime humility.<\/p>\n
\u201c…if we study our own qualifications, there is none — rather I have got so many disqualifications.”<\/p>\n

In the Bhagavad Gita, chapter 13 text 8 purport, Srila Prabhupada defines humility:<\/p>\n
\u201cHumility means that one should not be anxious to have the satisfaction of being honored by others. The material conception of life makes us very eager to receive honor from others, but from the point of view of a man in perfect knowledge\u2014who knows that he is not this body\u2014anything, honor or dishonor, pertaining to this body is useless. One should not be hankering after this material deception.\u201d<\/p>\n
Srila Prabhupada displays humility and encourages his disciples.<\/p>\n
\u201cI consider you all students as my Spiritual Master because your love for Krishna and service for Krishna teach me how to become a sincere Krishna Conscious person.”<\/p>\n

Srila Prabhupada writes:<\/p>\n
“Practically there is no credit for me, if there is any credit it goes to my Spiritual Master, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Goswami Prabhupada, Who is helping me by sending so many good souls like you in this movement. Whatever is being done, it is due to His Divine Grace only. So my business is just to carry out His order. That is the way of disciplic succession; and as you have all come to help me, if you also follow the same principles then our combined effort to serve Lord Krishna will be surely successful.”<\/p>\n

Srila Prabhupada\u2019s constant conclusion is:<\/p>\n
