HG Bhutanatha dasa ACBSP Passes Away.<\/p>\n
Kurma Dasa: Today I received news that my Australian Godbrother, disciple of Srila Prabhupada, Bhutanatha dasa (Brian Lloyd) passed away in Nepal – Kathmandu Hospital – on March 21.<\/p>\n
Bhutanatha prabhu came to Krishna Consciousness a fair bit older than most of us – he was born on April 22, 1942. Bhutanatha performed many different services over the years in Australia, including pujari work, but is most remembered for his spectacular cooking.<\/p>\n
Our Godsister Govinda Mohini recalls:<\/p>\n
\u201cI have so many wonderful memories of HG Bhutanatha prabhu. He was so devoted to serving Radha Gopinatha in Sydney Temple and dressed them so beautifully and expertly. He cooked their Lordships the most sumptuous feasts you could imagine, he was so talanted. I\u2019ve never been to such feasts since.<\/p>\n
“Myself and others worked under his supervision in the kitchen chopping up vegetables etc, he was always so jolly and inspired everyone with speaking only Krishna katha. He created such a nice Krishna conscious atmosphere in the kitchen and was always so encouraging and kind to everyone. Srila Prabhupada and Krishna will never forget the loving, sincere service he rendered.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tribute to Sriman Bhutanath Dasa ACBSP (1942 – 2020)<\/strong><\/p>\n I first met Bhutanath Dasa in late 1972, he was working as a window designer and dresser for a big Department store in Sydney.<\/p>\n But after seeing the Sankirtan party chanting in Kingscross, he immediately joined in chanting with us and became a member of ISKCON.<\/p>\n Back in those days, a new devotee got what was called a Temple name, Madhudvisa Swami gave him the name Bharata because when he worked in the Temple kitchen, he helped cooked round Bharats (made from chick peas and baked)<\/p>\n They were Madhudvisa’s favourite prasad and Bharat, as we then called Bhutanath back then, cooked them expertly.<\/p>\n Eventually Prabhupada came and his Temple name was replaced with his initiated name, Bhutanath Dasa.<\/p>\n By now his service was working in the kitchen and being trained up to be a full time Pujari looking after the Deities.<\/p>\n He eventually became very expert dressing Radha Gopinath in Sydney but also served other Deities too including New Zealand.<\/p>\n I spent many years serving with Bhutanath prabhu in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Murwillumbah and when he managed the Govinda’s Restaurant on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n He came up with His own name for The front of the Restaurant, “The vergi dairy in”<\/p>\n In 1980 Bhutanath went to New Vrindavan in West Virginia USA to get ideas for our Murwillumbah Farm New Govardhana.<\/p>\n He also travelled with us for a short time on our Travelling Temple around Australia.<\/p>\n Safe journey dear friend going back to the Spiritual World, as you use to always say to me, there is nothing in the material world worth hanging around for, it’s time to get out of this place.<\/p>\n Bhutanath is in the middle of this Newspaper article included.<\/p>\n Your fallen servant Gauragopala Dasa ACBSP<\/p>\n HG Bhutanatha dasa ACBSP Passes Away.
