Anyone who has been forced by ignorance to enter the material world may be purified of material life if he offers prayers to the Lord and hears the Lord\u2019s glories.<\/p>\n<p>PURPORT<br \/>\nIt is clearly understood that a devotee does not need to be born in a very high family, to be rich, to be aristocratic or to be very beautiful. None of these qualifications will engage one in devotional service. With devotion one should feel, \u201cGod is great, and I am very small. Therefore my duty is to offer my prayers to the Lord.\u201d Only on this basis can one understand and render service to the Lord. As the Lord says in Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101 (18.55):<\/p>\n<p>bhakty\u0101 m\u0101m abhij\u0101n\u0101ti<br \/>\ny\u0101v\u0101n ya\u015b c\u0101smi tattvata\u1e25<br \/>\ntato m\u0101\u1e41 tattvato j\u00f1\u0101tv\u0101<br \/>\nvi\u015bate tad-anantaram<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne can understand the Supreme Personality as He is only by devotional service.
