Cardiff UK Charity Delivers 10,000 Meals To City\u2019s Most Vulnerable.
\nElderly and vulnerable people across Cardiff have received over 10,000 \u201cvital\u201d meals during the Coronavirus outbreak thanks to a dedicated charitable initiative. Volunteers at Food For Life Wales have been delivering meals to at-risk and socially isolated people across the city since the lockdown was introduced in March.
\nDuring that time, 35 dedicated volunteers from the initiative, which promotes social inclusion and wellbeing, have delivered thousands of freshly made plant-based meals to over 300 people in the city every week. Hospitals across Cardiff, housing associations, GP surgeries, and home care providers, have also received deliveries from the project, run by T\u0177 Krishna Cymru.
\nProject manager at T\u0177 Krishna Cymru, Tarakanatha Das, said it was a privilege to be able to support those most in need at this challenging time. He said: \u201cThe Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, has been particularly challenging for everyone, however for elderly, at-risk, and vulnerable people it has been especially worrying. \u201d
\n\u201cOur dedicated volunteers have been working day and night to deliver over 10,000 meals to those who need them most during this difficult period. We have been blown away by their tireless dedication, and I cannot thank them enough for their selflessness at this unprecedented time.\u201d
\n\u201cAs a charity which has supported those at-risk for over 20 years, we at T\u0177 Krishna Cymru recognize that now, more than ever, vulnerable and isolated people need support to access essential food supplies. As such, we are determined to continue providing this vital service, to ensure we are there for those who need us most.\u201d
