There it moves ! Near the house !
\nDarting along the ground !
\nHere I come, little mouse.
\nMy feathers make no sound.<\/p>\n
I float, I glide, I swoop, I snatch.
\nMy talons sharp and strong.
\nFor I’ve been watching you, little mouse.
\nAll night long.<\/p>\n
As I prepare to eat your heart,
\nI think of lives gone past.
\nI’ve lived so many lives.
\nAnd this is not my last.<\/p>\n
Oh little mouse, you squeak and squirm,
\nYou try with all your might,
\nBut soon to you Death will come,
\nSo it’s useless now to fight.<\/p>\n
Death comes to us all,
\nAnd tonight you were too slow.
\nYour soul will leave your body soon,
\nSo please prepare to go.<\/p>\n
Oh what a curse of nature !
\nWe are in this body bound,
\nYou, with your squeaking voice,
