<\/a>1 a) REASON JOB EXISTS<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>To teach timetabled classes to provide release time for headteacher and subject leaders. <\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>To provide cover for classes due to staff sickness<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>To deliver aspects of our intervention programme<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>1 b) DUTIES<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>Deliver and mark work that has been set by the class teacher. <\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>Manage the behaviour of students whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive and positive environment<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>Respond to any questions from students and provide support and guidance<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school\u2019s policies and procedures.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>Be aware of and support difference and ensure that students have equality of access to opportunities to learn, develop and achieve.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The jobholder is required to contribute to and support the overall aims and ethos of the school and will be required to attend a weekly staff meeting after school.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>The jobholder is required to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the competencies defined in the teaching standards<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>All staff are required to participate in training and other learning activities and in appraisal and development, as required by the school\u2019s policies and practices<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>** The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary.<\/p>\n

<\/a>2. SUPERVISION<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>On a day to day basis, the jobholder is supervised by the Headteacher\/SENDco. The jobholder is formally managed by a member of the school\u2019s Senior Leadership Team. The frequency of meetings is determined by the school’s appraisal policies and practice.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>3. JOB CONTEXT<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>The job is to provide cover for whole classes during the absence of teacher as well as timetabled classes during the headteacher\u2019s release time. The teacher may be absent on sick leave or to participate in professional development or to attend a meeting or to allow time for planning, preparation or assessment. <\/p>\n

<\/a>The job is also to deliver one to one and small group intervention sessions for pupils across the school.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>The jobholder will actively engage in the teaching and learning of students<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

<\/a>The jobholder works directly with teachers and students <\/p>\n

<\/a>. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING<\/p>\n

<\/a>Experience of working with students of the relevant age.<\/p>\n

<\/a>.Qualified Teacher Status<\/p>\n

<\/a>Competence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning.<\/p>\n

<\/a> Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and within a team<\/p>\n

<\/a>Ability to manage whole groups of students within a classroom setting<\/p>\n
