\nTRANSLATION
\nAfter speaking to Ka\u1e41sa in this way, the goddess Durg\u0101, Yogam\u0101y\u0101, appeared in different places, such as V\u0101r\u0101\u1e47as\u012b, and became celebrated by different names, such as Annap\u016br\u1e47\u0101, Durg\u0101, K\u0101l\u012b and Bhadr\u0101.
\nPURPORT
\nThe goddess Durg\u0101 is celebrated in Calcutta as K\u0101l\u012b, in Bombay as Mumb\u0101dev\u012b, in V\u0101r\u0101\u1e47as\u012b as Annap\u016br\u1e47\u0101, in Cuttack as Bhadrak\u0101l\u012b and in Ahmedabad as Bhadr\u0101. Thus in different places she is known by different names. Her devotees are known as \u015b\u0101ktas, or worshipers of the energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whereas worshipers of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself are called Vai\u1e63\u1e47avas. Vai\u1e63\u1e47avas are destined to return home, back to Godhead, in the spiritual world, whereas the \u015b\u0101ktas are destined to live within this material world to enjoy different types of material happiness. In the material world, the living entity must accept different types of bodies. Bhr\u0101mayan sarva-bh\u016bt\u0101ni yantr\u0101r\u016b\u1e0dh\u0101ni m\u0101yay\u0101 (Bg. 18.61). According to the living entity\u2019s desire, Yogam\u0101y\u0101, or M\u0101y\u0101, the goddess Durg\u0101, gives him a particular type of body, which is mentioned as yantra, a machine. But the living entities who are promoted to the spiritual world do not return to the prison house of a material body (tyaktv\u0101 deha\u1e41 punar janma naiti m\u0101m eti so\u2019rjuna [Bg. 4.9]). The words janma na eti indicate that these living entities remain in their original, spiritual bodies to enjoy the company of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the transcendental abodes Vaiku\u1e47\u1e6dha and V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana.
