\u201cStartled, he smiled at me. \u2018Quickly,\u2019 I said, \u2018tell me what you see.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Books\u2014but that\u2019s not what you\u2019re going to say, right?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018True. What I am showing you is the key to the past, present, and future. And with this key, you can dissolve all anxiety.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018You have good improvisational skills. You should be an evangelist.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Nah, I\u2019m just here to be your friend. I\u2019m a huge fan of your work and was really impressed with What Dreams May Come. It had a real cool vibe, and I appreciated its depth. Did you enjoy doing it?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Yes. It made me start to see the world in a different way.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, this is the next step, my friend. I have the feeling that making that movie made you thirsty for more.\u201d<\/p>\n
I then showed him five books: Beyond Birth and Death, The Higher Taste, A Second Chance, the Bhagavad-gita, and Your Ever Well-Wisher. He was fascinated by the pictures and wanted to know how much the books were.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Whatever you think they\u2019re worth,\u2019 I said. \u2018I personally don\u2019t put a price tag on transcendence, so I don\u2019t know. Just go with what your heart tells you.\u2019<\/p>\n
Apparently, he liked my answer, because he then said, \u2018I appreciate your honesty. You have a real genuine quality about you, so I\u2019ll take what you\u2019ve got.\u2019<\/p>\n
I handed him the five books and he gave me a fifty-dollar bill.<\/p>\n
I thanked him for his interest and he said, \u2018Thank you. Hopefully, this will get me some good karma. Say a couple of mantras for me, okay?\u2019<\/p>\n
As he shook my hand I said to him, \u2018That\u2019s what my life is about, so I\u2019ll say some for you too.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

People in general think that gratifying their senses will lead to happiness, but Krishna points out in Bhagavad-gita that that kind of happiness is temporary and leads to ultimate misery. In this verse he gives another paradigm for attaining a happiness that is eternal \u2013 concentration on the Supreme.<\/p>\n
