Dear Pankajanghri Prabhu,<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Though you have left this world and now are beyond our reach and pitiful cries, I have faith that through the transcendental medium you will hear my words.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
Your sudden departure has left all of us \u2013 a worldwide community of Vaisnavas consisting of godbrothers, godsisters, friends, well-wishers, the young and the old \u2013 all with aching hearts. Perhaps most aggrieved are each and every member of our glorious Mayapur community who had the good fortune to see you day after day for years on end as you carried out your duties to the presiding deities of that transcendental abode.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
All of us, without exception, respected you, honored you, and loved you beyond words.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
The English writer, George Eliot, best captures the sentiments we struggle with now. She writes:<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
“Only in the agony of parting, do we look into the depths of love.”<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
And what exactly is our struggle? It is that we only have memories of your saintly character and selfless service to help us pass the time until we meet you again. Perhaps our only solace is knowing that you went to, for want of better words, a \u201cbetter place.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
What is that \u201cbetter place?\u201d There\u2019s no need to speculate. Srila Prabhupada made it very clear in a morning walk conversation in New York on July 11, 1976. A devotee asked him:<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
“Srila Prabhupada, if the spiritual master has a mission, is it proper for the disciple to think that he can take many births to help that mission of the spiritual master?”<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
Srila Prabhupada replied:<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
“When the spiritual master goes somewhere, his nearest assistants, they automatically go there to assist him. Just as when K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a comes, the demigods also come to help Him.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
So, our dear Pankajanghri Prabhu, you are there with Srila Prabhupada, either in this material realm or that place beyond this world of birth and death. No one can contest that fact, for His Divine Grace said of you and your illustrious brother:<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
\u201cThe two brothers Pankajanghri and Jananivasa \u2013 there is no comparison.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
Thus, if all of us who you left behind follow your example of selfless service to Sri Guru and Gauranga, we may one day have the association of the Supreme Lord and our beloved spiritual master Srila Prabhupada, as well as your \u201cincomparable\u201d self.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

You once bestowed upon me a priceless gift of a large number of Srila Prabhupada\u2019s transcendental hairs. I treasure that gift each day. Please allow me the good fortune to somehow repay you in a future birth or, better yet, in the spiritual sky in Vrindavan, that land of love and bliss.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

I offer you my most respectful obeisances. And after that, I turn to your celebrated bother, Jananivasa Prabhu, and embrace him in love with all my heart and soul. May the Supreme Lord console him in his special time of mourning and watch over and protect him now and forevermore.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
