We are a small group of aspiring servants of the servants of Srila Prabhupada trying to start a farm project in NE Texas near DFW area. We have purchased a farm having existing infrastructure and living quarters and an few other structures for equipment, hay, small workshop etc.<\/p>\n
Our vision is to develop this place as an example of the simple living and high thinking life with Krsna in the center as desired and taught by Srila Prabhupada. Initial intent is to develop a market garden in 2-3 acres of land. We desire to produce most nutritious produce possible and slowly improve the soil and environment to continuously improve the quality of our produce. We would like to supply produce for the deity kitchen of Sri Sri Radha Kalachandji temple and the remaining to be sold to devotee families in the metroplex. The desire is to make the farm economically self sufficient in 1-2 years time.<\/p>\n
We also would like to sell in farmer’s markets thereby making our presence known and be able to share Srila Prabhupada’s books etc and invite people to come check out our farm and our philosophy and our lifestyle. The desire (or dream, if you will) is to recruit sincere folks from the American diaspora who would like to be part of such a community. As more folks join we want to start learning how to build simple dwellings etc etc. for our expanding community.<\/p>\n
To accomplish the above we are looking for devotees who share our vision and have experience and desire to do this service for the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada. We have adequate residential facilities for devotees who would like to be part of this project and vision. Good sadhana — 16 rounds daily and following the 4 regulative principles is of course a must. Attendance at morning and evening services (kirtan, class etc) is important.<\/p>\n
Must have a valid driver\u2019s license and be able bodied in good health. Experience with gardening or farming is required. The applicant will preferably have experience operating a tractor and other related machinery.<\/p>\n
Position responsibilities include planning and implementing a large garden, mowing and property upkeep, purchasing supplies, and other tasks as needed. This position requires self-motivation and a strong desire to work and serve.
