{"id":9621,"date":"2011-06-06T16:37:58","date_gmt":"2011-06-06T15:37:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=9621"},"modified":"2011-06-06T16:37:58","modified_gmt":"2011-06-06T15:37:58","slug":"he-entered-with-his-raised-hands-joyfully-chanting-%e2%80%9chare-krishna%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=9621","title":{"rendered":"He entered with his raised hands, joyfully chanting   \u201cHare Krishna\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SS-2011-06-06_18.56.03.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SS-2011-06-06_18.57.51.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<strong>By Govinda prema dasa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meeting the Kenyan mayor was a great realization; the upcoming Rath yatra festival is what gave us an opportunity to meet him.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was arranged by one of the country\u2019s councilor, as we arrived at his chamber it seemed as if we were in a different world, his office was well decorated with flowers and a posh carpet, after waiting for almost one hour, he arrived storming in the door with his hands high in the air chanting \u201cHare Krishna\u201d, he introduced himself as the mayor of the city, &#038; was very welcoming. our temple president H.G umapati prabhu garlanded him, &#038; exchanged few friendly words, he was very happy having met the devotees after such a long time, he said \u201cwhen I was young in the 80\u2019s I would always eat food from Hare Krishna temple &#038; every Saturday I would wait eagerly to see the harinam party pass an enliven everybody in the town\u201d. He thanked us for all the activities we do, and he said \u201cour Government is ready to work with Hare Krishna people for anything they want because they help everybody.\u201d HG lavanga Prabhu &#038; I gave him an invitation to come &#038; have lunch which he accepted, saying I miss your food, definitely I will come. He concluded by accepting our invitation of being the chief guest at the rath yatra festival on the 19June 2011.our dandavats onto the pioneer devotees who worked tirelessly, planting the seeds.
