The director of our Almaty Society requested the General Prosecutor's office to investigate the issue. In doing so the Aktobe prosecutor withdrew the ruling on my deportation.

But, they have expressed that they cannot accept an active garbage dump, which does not have drinking water or water for irrigation, as a satisfying resolve.

November 22, 2006 Destruction of Krishna Community Update

24 hours after 200 riot police appeared at the their farm community, the devotees are sifting through the ruins of their homes trying to salvage clothes and belongings. The Omon riot police threw the personal belongings of the Hindus into the mud and snow, while loading the furniture on the back of trucks.

Kazakh Government destroying Devotees homes in Kazakhstan.

All 11 homes were destroyed today by the Kazakh Government. They cut the electric cable at the farm. Thus there is no light, heat, or water for the devotees. Also today our documents were recieved at 10 Downing Street to be presented to Tony Blair. He has agreed to bring up the issue when he meets Nazarbayev today. Tomorrow there will be demonstrations at the London Stock Exchange when Nazarbayev visits there in the morning.

Last month there was held the first of two recent conferences in Kazakhstan about religious liberty. ISKCON devotees attended that conference, and our case was brought to the attention of the whole convention by scholars and other delegates from the UK and the USA–who pointed out that religious freedom principles were being violated by the hosts of the conference– the Kazakh government.

Due to your efforts of sending letters, faxes, and emails to the Kazakhstan government, the orders were frozen from the Capital. But sadly, there has been no resolve to the situation.
