Severe Drought in New Gokula farm, Australia! (Album with photos)
Ramai Swami: On a recent visit to New Gokula farm the devotees told me that the area was experiencing the worst drought in the last one hundred years.
There had been some light rain but not enough to change the situation much. Our cows were being fed with hay that had been bought from other areas of the state.
The devotees were praying to Radha Gokulananda and doing lots of extra kirtan.

Might have been a good idea to grow some oats and rye in the Autumn under irrigation. New gokula has a great bore capable of irrigating up to twenty acres. That's enough hay for a hundred cows. The river flat soil is silt and nutrient rich Obviously a little forethought and endeavour is needed but if it's the biggest drought in 100 years then you should have done something before the winter arrived. But seeing as you didn't I hope the local hay prices don't go up too much. Even with rain there aren't much winter pasture grasses there so you'll still need to buy hay. Good luck.
