ISKCON of Central New Jersey, Plainfield celebrated Gaura Purnima and Holi on Wednesday 3/20/2019. Gaura Nitai were adorned with a brand new outfit. The altar was decorated with a theme representing Navadwip Dham (nine islands of Navadwip) which signifies nine processes of Bhakti. Devotees started the program by singing melodious Gaura Bhajans. Diorama representing Jharikhanda forest caught everyone’s attention. Devotees performed abhishek of Sri-Sri-Gaura-Nitai. Several bhoga were offered to Lord Gauranga and devotees honored hundreds of varieties of Mahaprasad items. The extended celebration continued on Sunday 3/24/2019. Mridanga players created an unique offering by their symphonic performances. Everyone were glued to see the devotional drama titled “Mahaprabhur Dakshin Desh Bhraman” which enthralled the show with 40+ performers coming together to create this masterpiece. The costumes, background setting and accompanying music transformed the atmosphere to Gaura Lila. Manta meditation hut provided opportunity for devotees to feel and recreate New Siddha Bakula Dham. Around 1,000+ devotees attended this wonderful celebration of Mahaprabhu’s 533rd appearance day at ISKCON Plainfield, NJ temple.
