by Administrator / 13 May 2011 / Published in Announcements  /

By Pariksit Dasa

The management of the Harrisburg, PA nama hatta (Institute of Higher Understanding, IoHU, under His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada) wishes to announce that due to circumstances beyond its control, the third annual ratha yatra originally scheduled for Sunday, July 3rd, has now been moved up one day to Saturday, July 2nd 2011, at the same venue on Front Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The management apologizes for any inconvenience that this date change may cause, and hope that you will adjust your plans accordingly in order to be there. Please come and join in the festivities highlighted by the procession of Their Most Merciful Lordships, Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra. Last year’s (our second) Ratha Yatra was most blissful and successful. Distinguished devotees and sannyasis like HH Bhakti Charu Swami, HH Bhakti Marg Swami, HG Dina Bandhu Prabhu, HG Malati Prabhu, and HH Vedavyas Priya Maharaja were in attendance. The Ratha Yatra procession was simply ecstatic! This year, Their Lordships have permitted IoHU to serve Them again, so that They may shower Their mercy upon the city and all who see Them. Please be there on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at 12noon EST. Entertainment and prasadam are expected to be first class! For details, please refer to the flyer. You may also call (717) 495-4679, or (717) 422-8203. Thank you, Hare Krsna! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Dear Bhaktas from Harrisburg area & regional supporters,
Haribol! All Glories to Srila Prabhupad who inaugurated the Rathayatra festivals throughout the world.
My family and I were so fortunate to have participated in the first two Harrisburg festivals. The people are so very kind in this part of the world. The farms and the locale, I think, promote more of the sattva guna in general, making it easier to tune in to the divine transcendental message. My daughter has graduated from the Penn State University Medical School and it is not likely that we will be coming this way again, at least in my estimation. But, I want to express how nice the Harrisburg festival is, with the procession and the park just beside the broad river. I was honored to be your speaker last year, and I want to again thank you for the affectionate dealings that the local mission has engendered. Back to Home, Back to Godhead, with a joyous life of serving all along the way. Hare Krishna.
