They were very relaxed compared to most New Yorkers we meet out here at Penn station. I said: “Here’s a gift for you! These books will guide you into deeper spiritual understanding. We’re monks and we just want people to help us with a donation for the printing and shipping cost.”

This nice gentleman was standing and watching the Harinam and really liking the kirtan. I approached him and right away showed him the set which I was carrying with me. I explained a little about each book and he said he only wanted the Srimad Bhagavatam 1st canto. He wanted to give $10 for it as a donation. I looked at him with a smile and said: “bro do the math $10 for 1 of these priceless books and just $50 for all 7 of them. Light Hearts and Bridges,
Ananda Vrindavaneswari Devi Dasi: The building of the bridge to Lanka is a favorite part of the Ramayana. Not only because it was done mainly by an army of monkeys and other animals, but it was built around one central idea - when the name of Rama was written on the rocks they floated on the water.
My big take away from this is that mantra meditation, the recitation of the names of the Lord, will help us build the bridges to where we need to go to on our spiritual journey. And that our hearts, without Lord Rama, are hard and heavy as stones, but with the Lord, we become light-hearted...
