By Sri Nanda - nandana DasaSome authors point out that Madero died with his copy of Bhagavad-gita under his arm. Madero, being more of an ideologist, tried to act with justice and democracy for everybody, which was seen as weakness. He was too far ahead of his times.

By a DasaIt must be reiterated here that devotees of Krishna are more concerned with the soul than with the body, and while embracing Ayurvedic principles for bodily care, they look to the Bhagavad-gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam – and to the teachings of Rupa Goswami -- for spiritual advancement and guidance in life.

By Indradyumna SwamiAlthough Tamala Krsna Maharaja once told me not to attribute bad health solely to the karma of my disciples, I couldn't ignore Srila Prabhupada's statement in Perfect Questions, Perfect Answers, that a spiritual master takes on the burden of the sinful activities of his disciples.

By Samba dasCould we have made the mistake of adopting ‘preventive systems’? Has the institution tried to take on a role that is assumed by the Supreme Lord Himself? ISKCON’s policy of guru approval (official or not) may be a case in point. By assuming the right to approve gurus, we may have become an ‘intruder’ in a transcendental process.

By Tamohara dasaYour string of assets, lined up like so many zeros, need that special One in front to make them really valuable. But this science of putting Krsna in the front is unknown to you. Thinking oneself the controller and enjoyer, one's senses alert for any opportunity for enjoyment, one makes great advancement towards repeated births and deaths.

By Phalini devi dasiDear Vaisnavas around the world, I offer my humble obeisances to all of you. I hope and pray that those of you who are married or planning to marry will be determined to keep your vows and that you will experience ever-increasing realizations in Krsna consciousness as you help each other along on your paths back to Godhead.

By Kavicandra SwamiEvery year for 20 years the Vraja Mandala Parikrama has celebrated GOVARDHAN PUJA at Varsana. The festival is always very sweet. The devotees bulid a beautiful duplicate of GOVARDHAN HILL and a sublime cow dung murti of GIRIRAJ KRSNA.

By Rachel SauerThe movement, said Vineet Chander, an ISKCON spokesman, has grown up. Like the devotees themselves. Now, Chander said, the children of the original devotees are raising their own children in “Krishna consciousness.” They’re integrating their beliefs, he says, with daily life.

By Kavicandra SwamiAfter a very nice GBC meeting in Italy I finally made it to Vrndavana to join the VRAJA MANDALA PARIKRAMA. The first morning we were delayed by a car accident on the way to Govardhana parikrama. I was not hurt but HH Lokanatha Swami was injured and I went with him to the the hospital. He was bandaged and sent home and I was able to join the parikrama party at Govinda Kund.

By Sita-pati dasThere is a growing sense of unease about the effectiveness of our current preaching paradigms in Western cities. The rising number of ads calling for pujaris, cooks, and preachers to reinforce existing ISKCON temples is a visible indicator that recruitment from the general public has slowed down drastically.

By Caitanya Nitai dasa The whole point of our movement is to try to maintain and increase our consciousness of Krishna, and simultaneously avoid anything that may decrease it. His consciousness of Krishna is by far the most precious asset of a devotee, and he / she should be constantly vigilant not to loose it.

From Mayapur.infoIt is said in the Vedic scriptures that the Holy Dhama of Sri Ksetra or Jagannatha Puri is eternally manifest in this holy place and that all the benefits one can attain by visiting Jagannatha Puri may be achieved visiting the Sri Jagannatha Mandir in Sri Navadvipa Dhama. One of these many benefits is the opportunity to partake of Lord Jagannatha’s famous Maha-prasad.

From Bala Gopala's mridanga I have noticed within myself a tendency to oscillate between intense self-abnegation to almost complete languor in regards to monitoring my attachment to material sense pleasure. I never noticed this until I started to write this paper so I think that perhaps I am being shown an area I need to improve in based on the impetus of this essay.

By HDG Srila PrabhupadaISKCON’s primary mission is thus to encourage all members of human society to devote at least some portion of their time and energies to this process of hearing and chanting about God. In this way they will gradually come to realize that all living beings are spirit souls, eternally related to the Supreme Lord in service and in love.

From Srila Prabhupada lilamrta Our Krsna consciousness movement has actually declared war against the illusory energy, in which all the living entities are rotting in a false understanding of civilization. The soldiers in this Krsna consciousness movement must always possess physical strength, enthusiasm and sensual power. To keep themselves fit, they must therefore place themselves in a normal condition of life. "What constitutes a normal condition will not be the same for everyone,"

By the KC BloggerIn our pursuit of eradicating unhappiness, we actually create more. We are spoilt; we have become used to receiving pleasure and absolving pain too instantly. Got a hangover? Have a Paracetamol. Feel hungry? Want something supremely tasty but takes no effort to prepare? Here's reconstituted carcass-meat packed with chemicals. Hey, at least it tastes good.

By Caru dasLastly, I sat in the temple courtyard, anonymous to all but a few "old timers", and simply watched in amazement all the passing cavalcades of devotees, mostly quite young, from India and all over the world, massed here in the Holy Dham. I thought that what Prabhupada started four decades ago by coming, a single penniless sadhu, to America has now become a titdal ocean which will inundate the entire world.

By Sita-pati dasAs both Krishna-kirti prabhu and His Holiness Danavir Maharaja went to some lengths to point out in their articles, there is nothing wrong with congregational members honestly maintaining themselves through teaching hatha yoga outside of ISKCON owned facilities, and at the same time using it as an opportunity to bring people in contact with Krishna Consciousness.

By Indradyumna Swami"Fortunately, a teacher in a local school took pity on me and tutored me in her spare time. Going to church and praying to God was all that made sense in life at that time, but as I grew older, I became dissatisfied with the sermons, as they didn't explain enough about God. I was frustrated. 'How will I ever know Him?' I often said to my friends.

Hatha-yoga is an important aspect of Vedic culture, and promoting Vedic culture wherever possible is always beneficial for preaching. Teaching hatha-yoga also happens to be an honest livelihood. Hatha-yoga taught within boundaries acceptable to our parampara, that is, for physical and mental health, means that it is being taught without an element of deception.

By Campakalata Devi DasiPlease friends, make it a priority during your Vrndavan visit to pay your respects to these cows and the devotees who care for them. Just being in the company of those gentle animals and seeing the devotees attentively providing them such loving care is enough to soften the heart and soothe the mind. Truly it is a spiritually rewarding experience to appreciate Krsna's dearest animal, the cow. Goloka, Gokula, Govinda, Gopal… First and foremost, Krsna is a lover of cows.

By a Dasa"Wow," she said. "God in the Vaisnava tradition is certainly a complex and multi-faceted individual." She then added, continuing in the humorous mood, "I guess David is only "partially" aggressive, too. He's actually a great kid." We laughed and looked at each other knowingly, recognizing that there are truths that go beyond a child's passing tantrums, and that even these tantrums have a basis in a reality that is simply more important.
