Dear ISKCON Leader, please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. In June 2020, the GBC SPT – Strategic Planning Support unit published a Temple Re-opening Guide and a decision-making Toolkit to support you in your efforts to re-open your temple. You will find attached, additional materials we have developed to assist you in facilitating the safe re-opening of your temple to the public.

For ten years, we have printed Srila Prabhupada Tributes and sent a free copy to each devotee who wrote for it. But this year, the pandemic that struck made us uncertain about whether our printers could provide the book on schedule, or even if we could deliver the physical books to all contributors. And so, for the first time, we have produced the book in electronic form only.

On behalf of the GBC Body, we would like to thank all those involved, particularly the Government of India and the State of West Bengal for their kind cooperation. We also extend our appreciation to all the devotees who have worked tirelessly to ensure that Maharaja’s vapu safely reached Mayapur Dham and was placed in samadhi with the utmost care and respect. In particular, this wonderful service could not have been completed without the support and hard work of the ISKCON Mayapur administration.

HH Bhakti Charu Swami's vapu will be placed in samadhi on Monday, July 13th morning, India time. As Maharaj’s Vapu enters into Samadhi on Monday 13th July early morning (IST), you may wish to engage in deep prayer in honor of Maharaj. There are many prayers of the Vaishnava Acharyas that we can recite.

As we try to come to terms with the departure of His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami, we join you in eagerly awaiting Maharaja's return to Sri Mayapur Dham where his samadhi will be erected. Due to the ravaging spread of COVID-19 in India, the government will not allow any public ceremonies to take place at this time. Therefore, we request devotees to refrain from making plans to travel to Mayapur. Only a few devotees, those who are directly involved in service, will be able to attend the last rites. This will be strictly enforced by government protocol.

A short live stream of the final rites ceremony of HH Bhakti Charu Swami will start shortly. "Maharaja’s final rites will be performed on Sunday morning (Eastern US time) at a local funeral home that especially caters to special requests. After Maharaja’s body is bathed, dressed, and decorated with tilak and auspicious item, the arati ceremony will be performed."

You are all aware by now of the passing of HH Bhakti Caru Swami Maharaja. Most if not all of you would be well aware that he was an outstanding disciple of Srila Prabhupada and a great leader in Prabhupada’s ISKCON. The team recognizes that our temples vary globally, and a standardized solution will not work. Therefore what is being presented is a high-level guideline, which may apply to most temples with scope for local customizations. Kirtan musician, Jahnavi Harrison and popular singer, Willow Smith have teamed up to release a new song entitled ‘Surrender (Krishna Keshava)’. We presented the effort at the 2020 Annual GBC Meetings and it was resolved that 3rd September to 9th September 2020 would be celebrated around all ISKCON centres and communities as the Shravanam Week focused on enhancing the culture of reading Srila Prabhupada’s books every day. On this auspicious occasion of Sri Ramanavami, we are formally inaugurating this project. We seek all of your support, blessings and participation in it.

Earlier this month Prana dasa and Candrakoti devi-dasi released Bhakti Learning, in Mayapur Dhama for Gaura Purnima. Bhakti Learning is a Krishna-conscious online learning platform for children from 5 years to 10 and over.
